Should I buy or rent Cisco pix 501 firewall

Hi,

I have a question about the cisco pix 501 firewall. I need one for a new telecom server being installed at a colocation facility.

My choices are:

1) Pay $50 per month and the colo people handle it all turnkey and I never have to touch it.

2) Buy my own for $350 +/- and pay them $125/hr. to configure and set it up.

I know nothing about firewalls as I've always used fully managed services. Does the firewall have to be constantly adjusted and updated? Or is it set up initially and then nothing more is needed thereafter, or any needed updates/adjustements are infrequent enough that buying makes sense?
