Server Hacked - what to know.
just planning to buy a new server for myself. Its a naive question,
but i need to know

how do i come to know that my server has been hacked or someone accessed root access thro a backdoor.
what all should i look for immediately to find out that server security has been compromised.
2
what all services should I discontinue and what all ports need
to be closed, assuming that I need remote access to control
the server.
