Migrating to another server

here's the situation.

We have a server through a reseller based at layered Technologies which is supposed to be managed by the reseller. He's been great in the past but now we can no longer get a hold of him and we had issues last month that put us down for days.

The server we have hasn't been any trouble at all and we are generally pleased with it so our chosen option is to go direct to layered Technologies and get our own.

Knowing little about linux and configuration we are looking for a managed third party company that can take on the technical side of the server, leaving us with the everyday website admin tasks.

We are very interested in PlatinumServerManagement who was have conversed with on MSN. They were willing to migrate us over to the new server (we have around 9 gig on our public_html) and set everything up for us. They were that is, until we mentioned our present system uses Direct Admin (although we are migrating to Cpanel).

So they have declined the migration as they clearly state they only service Cpanel servers. Their happy to step in and sort out the server and keep it maintained for us but that leaves us with one unique problem. How do we easily migrate 9 gig of data as quickly as possible (our members are paid subscribers so downtime needs to be a minimum) to our new server ?

I can't download and then re-upload as my upload speed limit is 25k max and it would take around 4 or 5 days. I've also tried FXP'ing from one server to a test server but that didn't work.

Is there any easy way for me to do this or does anyone know of a someone competent to handle this migration for us ?

Any help or advice would really be appreciated. We are happy to look at alternative 'managed' server companys if they would be willing to handle the migration for us and keep us updated.

The server we currently have is a dual Xeon 2.4ghz with 2gig of ram and as i say the specification has done us well.

If anyone could please help, I'd appreciate it ...
