Need a advice from web server guru
I am running a sort of a file catalog with ability for people to upload and download file's from the server via httpd , I run dual Xeon with 6 GB of ECC ram , on RHE4 with Apache 2.0.55 (it's running in the worker mode) and MySQL 4.1.15 . Lately the server is heavily overloaded, and I wouldnt say that there are that many useres, well I just assume it could handle a lot more then that.
I need a advice from web server guru , on how to properly set this kind of service , i have some spare servers p4 , I thought maybe transfer the DB to the separate server could do the trick or may be special apache / mysql tuning
Any tips, comments and advices are very welcome!
