Mysql backup wont restore, version mismatch ??
It seems one of my clients did a backup of his mySQL database through his CPanel, and when we went to restore it using the CPanel feature, it just hung, and seemed to hang on syntax errors a 1/3 of the way through or so. I contacted my CPanel rep with my license vendor, and they tried it and said it is because the mysql backup cpanel made, was in a previous version of mysql, and is not compatible with 4.x.. I find this odd, that a newer version of mysql all of a sudden cant import an older database. And it couldnt have been that far behind in versions.
Anyway, is there a way to restore this backup somehow? It is vital that this backup is restored unfortunately. Is there a way to convert it, or any options that anyone can clue me in on?
