I don't know how but someone is managing to abuse my current box by opening too many MySQL connections. ps ax shows a listing of several open mysql connections causing around 400 sleeping processes and then shortly afterwards the machine freezes. Does anyone know how I would be able to figure out who is opening up those connections on a Cpanel machine? I've tried optimizing My.cnf with the httpd/mysql optimizations.
