MRTG in a VPS?
For the most part it works; however, bandwidth (but not open connections), swap, and memory usage are all at 0 perpetually. My guess is that this is because we're in a VPS (Virtuozzo), and the virtualization of these things throws it off, while things like the number of processes don't rely on knowing hardware device names.
Am I correct in this guess? And if so, any idea how to fix it for Virtuozzo? (I don't have a lot of experience with VPSs.)
Oh, a couple related things:
- CPU use has climbed to like 150% a couple times. We're on a dual processor box, so I'm assuming that 0-200% is actually the right range.
- We're moving 100-200 e-mails a day. I think 10 is a more accurate number, as we haven't really started doing too much with this box yet. My experience with MRTG on another server is that it sometimes gets values out of left field when it can't actually find them. Or did we become some sort of spamhaus? ("E-mail Totals" is showing 200+; "Mail Counts" is 4-5 a day. Eh?)
